Just wanted to update everyone on D.J.'s progress. He is now 10 years old. He continues to have physical therapy once a week outside of school.
D.J. had the baclofen pump installed in 2002 and is doing very well. It has made a real difference in his spasticity. It is much easier to dress him now and it is easier for him to get himself into and out of the bathtub as well as his wheelchair.
He has grown from a 2lb. 12oz. preemie (born at 28 wks.) to a 65 lb. 10 yr. old.
D.J.'s favorite thing to do is to ride his special needs equipped tricycle (he calls it his "bike") that he received from Magic Moments charity here in Birmingham, AL.
His middle name should be "go". He loves to go to new places and see new things. He is soooooo! curious. He always asks a million questions (sometimes the same one twenty times) and he never meets a stranger.
We are truly blessed and he never ceases to amaze us.
