P.O. Box 292
We had our little girl, Skylar, on May 24, 2000. Skylar was born with cleft lip and palate. She had her first surgery August 28, 2000. About 2 or 3 weeks after her surgery, she became sick to the point we had to take her to the emergency room. After many test, the doctors told us she had Diabetes Inshipdus. In Feb. of this year they diagnosed her with Holoprosencphaly. It is the mildest version of HPE, however, she is still not able to sit up or walk; she doesn't really talk, just some words will come out sometimes. Just a few months ago, they told us that her growth and thyroid horomone is defficent. At the age of 2 she is at a 6-7 month stage with growth, and around 5-6 month development. Through all of this, she has never quit smiling. She keeps me going each day with her fresh attitude every morning. God has truely blessed Johnny and I with her; and everyone else with a diabled child. I know it gets hard and stressful, but just remember at the end of the day all those sweet smiles and giggles, whether it be with thier eyes or mouths. May God bless us all, and give us all the strength and courage to continue day to day with fresh energy. Conversations are welcomed at all times.
