I found out I was pregnant with my second child 2 days after our daughter's first birthday. We were surprised but very excited that we would be having another child. I spotted during the first trimester, but my OB-BYN assured me everything was fine and the first few ultrasounds confirmed it. At 20 weeks pregnant our baby was diagnosed with alobar hpe. My husband and I were devastated. I was blaming myself - I thought I did everything right during this pregnancy.
We did alot of research that weekend because neither of us heard of it before. The Carter Centers provided us with alot of information. I kept my monthly doctor visits . We were not sure if I would be induced early or wait the 40 weeks, my due date would have been 5-16-01. I was feeling fine. At 30 weeks pregnant at 11:30pm I started having contractions that were getting closer. We rushed to the hospital and at 1:16am on 3-3-01 I delivered a beautiful baby girl. MaryFaith. The delivery was perfect; but MaryFaith only stayed with us for 2 hours. We got to hold MaryFaith and her grandparents came to see her too. She was so peacful. We decided not to have her on life support; we just wanted to hold her and be with her as long as we could. I do not know how I am getting through this last month; but I am thankful for my husband and my beautiful 18 month old for getting me through this difficult time in my life.
