Von: Karin Woelfig An: Betreff: (hpe) hi, i`m new here Datum: Donnerstag, 1. März 2001 00:36 Hi everybody! Please forgive me my bad english, i come from vienna, austria, and don´t yet know the specific words, i´ll need .... My name is Karin Wölfig and i have a son called Angelo who is now 13 month old and has alobar hpe. My doctor found it out with ultrasound when i was pregnant in the 30th week. Nothing seemd wrong till then. I was shocked. Nobody could tell us, what will happen, and they told us, that Angelo wouldn´t be able to do anything, IF he would go throu birth. They told us we would have a poor little body, having seizers and having spasticity, and we could be happy, as he would live long enough, if he ever looks at us. But they gave him almost no chance to live longer than a few days or weeks, probably a few month. Having this horrable informations, we nevertheless wanted to give him a chance. Angelo´s birth was in the 36th week. He was able to breath alone and lived. After three weeks in the neonatology during that time he had several apnoes and bradicadies and was partitionally feed with tube, i learned to handel the tube and we were happy to get him home at least. After beginning problems, like two cyanoses and very few eating he got the management about his live. Now he is a happy little boy, who grabbes anything, bangs on toys, babbels and laughs a lot. He has no more problems with eating or breathing. Angelo turns over and has learnd to control his big head. He has no malformations accept an upper middel tooth. Angelo is our fifth child. He has three brothers and one sister aged almost eight to twoandahalf year and they all love their little brother. I wonder if there are any german speaking parents out there, who would like to contact me. I´ll certainly also will answer to any english letter, but please don´t be angry about my bad english. Please feel free to contact me karin.woelfig@chello.at signed karin woelfig, mom to angelo hpe alobar, and his three brothers and his sister
