My daughter Mari is 21 months old.She was diagnosed with semilobar Holoprosencephly variant
at 10 months of age. When I was 2 weeks pregnant I caught Fifth's Disease.I had bleeding @ 7 weeks.I had a vaginal birth 8 days early with no complications. At birth she had a cleft palate, an under developed chin,(Pierre Robin Sequence)& was choking on her tongue. Her tongue was obstructing her airway. She has Mild hearing loss in both ears.Left subluxtation afatibulation(left leg
slides out of the socket)Butterfly vertabrae.Mari had surgery ,lip tongue adhesion when she was 23 days old.Her pallate is repaired,& tongue unattached at 11 months. She has been involved in early intervention since 10 months old.She has global delays. She is at a 15 month level in some areas. She is making progress but it is slow. She combat crawls,& does not walk She just received AFO's(Ankle foot Orthosis)She has spasticity that flucutates.Mari is receiving PT,OT,SEIT,SPEECH, Oral Moter Pathologist 2X30 each week from Early intervention. My best advice to any parent is to get involved in Early Intervention as soon as they can.Thankyou to everyone who are in theses areas of specialities.
