Graeme was born on the 29 February 1992. At first we thought Graeme was a normal healthy baby. Graeme has no facial abnormalities. During the next few months it became clear Graeme had developmental delay. At two years of age Graeme was diagnosed with semi-lobar HPE. We were informed that very little was known about this condition and only time would tell what problems Graeme would have! Graeme has Epilepsy and to date it is not fully under control. Graeme has severe learning difficulties and attends a special needs school. Most people who meet Graeme remark on what a sociable person Graeme is. Graeme has walked since he was about 4, he is fully toilet trained, can ride a two wheeler bike, loves to go swimming and likes to kick a football. He understands most things spoken to him and can respond in 3-4 word sentences. He has a very healthy appetite and enjoys his food especially Mcdonalds! Graeme loves to meet other people. The major problem for Graeme at the moment is his Epilepsy.Whilst there has been very short periods when it has been under control, generally,he has fits most days. Graeme has brought a lot of happiness into our lives and certainly the positives outweigh the negatives.
