neuronal inclusions (NI)

Clumps of mutant protein. These mutant proteins have abnormally expanded polyglutamine tracts in hereditary tri-nucleotide repeat disorders. Also referred to as neuronal intranuclear inclusions, nuclear inclusions, or inclusion bodies.
