neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses (NCLs)

A group of rare, inherited degenerative disorders of the nervous system; associated with the accumulation of an abnormal pigment in the brain called lipofuscin. These disorders can have severe diseases including blindness, mental retardation, and early death.
