About Us Stanford Ice Hockey is a club sports team that plays competitive, full-contact
ice hockey in Division II of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) as part
of the Pac-8 conference. Other league teams are Arizona
State, California-Berkeley,
Oregon, UCLA, USC, Washington and Washington State. Local
rivals include San
Jose State and Palmer Chiropractic West. Any interested students are welcome
to participate, regardless of skill level, though priority for game playing
time is given to more accomplished players. As a club sports team, the players
are responsible for the administration of the team, including scheduling games
and handling finances. Partial funding for the team comes from the Stanford
club sports program, with player dues and fund raising efforts accounting
for the remainder. Players are not on scholarship nor do hockey players receive
special consideration in admission to Stanford.
