Houseboating
Ahoy! Other trips might send you hiking into unconquered wilderness...but if a true "outdoor adventure" in your mind means deciding whether to rent a house or a boat, look no further. There is only one trip that makes it possible to do both at the exact same time. Spend all weekend relaxing with 40 first and second years on two houseboats. Watch in awe as your fearless captains attempt to tie two 40-foot floating palaces together while surging through the placid waters of Lake McClure at an unprecedented two miles per hour. And by former Naval Officers we mean we've all been on a boat before.
This annual trip affords a true bonding experience with your classmates: being rocked to sleep on three-inch thick plastic mattresses and waking up to scrambled eggs and Gatorade for much-needed morning hydration and protein. The weekend, for less than your estimated expenditures at Blue Chalk during welcome week, includes a houseboat (that's right, a house AND a boat!), a hottub, your newest GSB MBA BFFs and other overused acronyms, and plenty of food and beverages to keep you happy all weekend long- plus a trip to the world-famous In 'N Out Burger. With an authentic French chef on board, your "camping food" expectations will be blown right out of the water. Spend the days sunbathing, boating, and piling into the hot tub (yes, there is a hottub on the roof of the boat). Spend the nights dance-partying, game-playing and piling into the hot tub (did we mention there's a hottub on the roof of the boat?). We'll provide the water toys, but you're on your own fighting off the pirates. Borat-style speedos are encouraged and will be required attire for trip leaders.
Difficulty Level: all fitness levels welcome, but you must know how to swim.
Cost: $280, all inclusive.
