Each year, the Venture Capital Club sponsors events aimed at educating
members and providing members exposure to the VC community. Please consult the

for upcoming events.
Some of the key events include:
 | Speaker Series
The goal of the Speaker Series is to bring visionary
venture capitalists to campus to discuss their investment strategies as well
as some of the key trends and issues affecting the principal investment
community. Recent speakers have included John Doerr (Kleiner Perkins
Caufield Byers) and Tim Haley (Redpoint). |
| Panels and Workshops
The club host panels and workshops with individuals from the venture
capital and entrepreneurship community who address students on variety of
issues that are either functional (e.g., career as a VC, funding, term sheet
negotiations) or topical in nature (e.g., evolution of incubators). |
| Venture Capital Workshop
The venture capital workshop, typically held once a year in the Spring
quarter, allows entrepreneur student teams at the business school to have
one-on-one session behind closed doors with a leading venture capitalist to
receive advice and feedback on their startup ideas. |
| Field Trips
The club organizes company field trips and socials with local VCs for club
members to interact informally with the firm partners and portfolio CEOs. Last
year's visits were to firms like Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Softbank and Greylock. |
| Small Group Dinners
The club sponsors small group dinners at least once a month for groups of
8-10 student to meet and interact informally with partners at VC firms in the
Silicon Valley. Recent dinners have included Mike Moritz (Sequoia
Capital), Russ Siegelman (Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers). |
| Co-hosted Events
We regularly partner with campus and area organizations like the SDF
(Software Development Forum), BASES (Business Association of Stanford
Engineering Students) to provide opportunities for cross-learning between
business school students, entrepreneurs and VCs in the Valley. |
