The Iris F. Litt, M.D. Fund Award Call for Applications

Purpose: The Iris F. Litt Fund Award supports research concerning women or gender in all fields.
Eligibility: Stanford University faculty holding academic council appointments who are also affiliates of the Clayman Institute. While the awards are open to all faculty, preference is given to applications by assistant and associate professors. Eligible fields include, but are not restricted to, the humanities, the arts, the natural and social sciences, education, and the medical sciences. Successful candidates are not eligible for another award until three years have passed.

How to become a faculty affiliate.

Award: Two awards of up to $10,000 will be made for the academic year 2008-2009.
Exclusions: The award is not intended to fund capital equipment purchases which would ordinarily be the responsibility of the faculty member or his/her department. Travel to conferences is also excluded.
Applications: Applicants are required to submit four complete application packets for review by the selection committee, including:

  • Curriculum vitae of no more than 2 pages
  • A proposal of 3-4 pages, single-spaced, including all notes and references, a time-line for completion, and a detailed budget
Only complete applications will be considered; other supporting papers will not be reviewed. Applications can be mailed or delivered to Serra House.
