Clayman Institute Fellowships


Faculty Research Fellowships | Deadline Extended: December 15, 2009

The Clayman Institute offers up to seven residential fellowships for tenured, tenure-track, and postdoctoral scholars from Stanford University, and U.S. and foreign universities. Fellows are in residence at the Institute for one, two, or three quarters.

The Clayman Institute also offers a number of non-residential fellowships to Members of the Academic Council and Members of the Medical Center Line in the Stanford faculty. Up to twelve awards for three quarters are available.


Graduate Dissertation Fellowships | Deadline: February 16, 2010

Currently enrolled Stanford University students, in any discipline, who are in the writing phase of their doctorate are invited to apply for a Graduate Dissertation Fellowship (GDF). Stipend is currently $4,000 per year. The Clayman Institute's graduate dissertation fellowships do not offer tuition fees. GDFs meet at least monthly to share their work in progress and for professional development discussions.
