Clayman Institute Professional Artist Group

The Clayman Institute is pleased to support a networking group for professional women artists among Stanford University's faculty and staff. Membership is inclusive of all art forms from writing to visual art to performance, and more. Each Quarter, the Institute will host an Artists' Salon, showcasing the work of one of our home-grown artists. Past presenters have included the Institute's Artist-in-Residence, Valerie Miner, who talked about her recent book, About Eden, and her experience as a professional writer; and Aleta Hayes, Lecturer in Dance, described her new project, "Pervasive Percussion." We also welcome our artist affiliates to the Institute for several networking lunches throughout the academic year. For more information about the professional women artists' program, please contact Professor Valerie Miner at vminer @ stanford.edu.

Artists' Salons

In the Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters, the Clayman Institute hosts an Artists' Salon showcasing the work of a Stanford artist in the faculty or professional community. Salons are free and open to all. For more details of Clayman Institute events, including Artists' Salons and receptions, please visit our events page.

Artists' Lunches

In the Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters, the Clayman Institute hosts a networking lunch for our community of professional women artists. A member of the group will sometimes give an informal talk about her work; while at other times, the lunch is hosted as an open discussion. To receive an invitation to the lunches, please join our artists' email group.
