Overview

The six-week 2010 Social-M launches on Saturday, January 9th with Converge, an all-day summit at Stanford University in the Yang and Yamazaki Energy and Environment Building (Y2E2). Converge serves as a social movement brainstorm and networking extravaganza. Attendees will be exposed to social movement theory and reality, learning from those individuals who have already spent years succeeding and failing in the field. They will also learn about conditions at Stanford and in the surrounding community, and about the topics most in need of innovative attention.

Session Topics

These hour-long sessions are organized to help participants build a cumulative framework for crafting effective social movements.

Each session will be split into five breakout rooms, and each registrant will select a single room to join during each of the three sessions. Video-recordings of each session will be made available on the summit website at the close of the day.
