Co-Presidents:

Travis Kiefer
TravisKieferTravis is a junior at Stanford University majoring in Urban Studies with a concentration in Social Entrepreneurship. Since coming to Stanford, he has engaged himself thoroughly with the Stanford entrepreneurship community and is involved with many groups that focus on entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and student activism. Travis is currently Executive Director of Gumball Capital, a nonprofit startup that engages students with entrepreneurship in the pursuit of ending poverty. When not busy with groups, organizations, and friends, you might see him in a class or two… :)

Shazad Mohamed
Shazad Shazad Mohamed is a senior at Stanford double majoring in Political Science and Computer Science. He currently leads a research project at the Stanford Graduate School of Business analyzing the transparency and social impact of nonprofit organizations. Shazad also serves as a research assistant on the Recession Task Force, a joint project between the Stanford Center for the Study of Poverty and Inequality and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, analyzing the impact of the recession on charitable giving trends in the United States. Prior to that, he worked for GuideStar analyzing nonprofit transparency trends and social impact. Shazad also serves on the Haas Center’s Public Service Student Advisory Board and is a Haas Center Public Service Leadership Fellow. In his free time, he enjoys starting interesting projects and talking about social entrepreneurship, foreign policy, and cool trends in computing and artificial intelligence.

Garrett Neiman
garrettGarrett Neiman, founder and President of SEE College Prep, is a senior at Stanford and a perfect 2400 scorer on the SAT. An accomplished fundraiser, Garrett has raised $15,000 for China’s orphanages and $55,000 for SEE College Prep. He has also personally taught more than 100 of SEE’s students. In the past, Garrett has advised the National Director of SAT Programs and Google’s Education Applications Team, interned at the U.S. Department of Education, and collaborated with Stanford and Harvard faculty on an education research project. Currently, Garrett is a Voting Member of Stanford University’s Trustee Development Committee and Public Service Student Advisory Board.

Minh Phan
MinhMinh Phan is a junior majoring in chemistry and economics. His interest in social entrepreneurship was sparked when Mohammad Yunus won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006. Besides Social-E, Minh loves to travel. His latest trip has taken him to Southeast Asia.

Stephanie Zhong
Stephanie ZhongStephanie Zhong is a sophomore planning to double major in Economics and Art. She has always been very interested in social entrepreneurship, particularly in the field of education. One of her dreams is to start her own world-class private school in China.

Co-VPs of WebDev:

Julia Lee
Julia Julia Lee is a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering.  This past summer she spent 7 weeks in India where she visited a number of inspiring organizations tackling a broad range of social issues.  She is particularly passionate about using technology to solve problems we face today.  In her spare time, Julia enjoys spending time outdoors with friends!

Taher Ezzi
meTaher Ezzi is an international student from Kenya planning to major in Mechanical Engineering with a possible minor in some other cool subject (Haven’t decided yet). While in Kenya he actively participated in and helped organize a number of social initiatives aimed at helping the less fortunate members of society. He was introduced to the fascinating world of social entrepreneurship during the ASB program “Social entrepreneurship in the Bay Area”. In his free time he enjoys sitting under the warm Californian sun with his laptop and connecting with his friends back home via Facebook.

Anshuman (Ansu) Sahoo
ansu Ansu Sahoo is a 2ndyear PhD student in the Department of Management Science & Engineering. His research focuses on the role of low carbon energy technology development in economic competitiveness. His desire to understand the behavioral changes that could empower the acceptance of such technologies motivated his leadership with the Social-M Challenge. Before joining the PhD program, Ansu was a founding member of the Princeton chapter of Engineers Without Borders and worked as a management consultant for the Boston Consulting Group.

Rebecca Krauthamer
Rebecca KrauthamerRebecca Krauthamer, a freshman at Stanford, spent the majority of her high school years helping grow the family business, and the majority of her high school summers travelling from the jungles of Ecuador to the slums of central Mexico then again to the villages of Cambodia the busy cities of Japan, as a volunteer teacher. Rebecca has a passion music, drawing, martial arts, dance and golf, and has dedicated a large portion of her life to bringing these to those less fortunate. Her drive to create a better world has led her to her childhood dream of attending Stanford University, where she hopes to learn many of the skills that will help her to successfully continue her endeavors.
