Presentation

The French Stanford Student Association (FSSA) was created in 1999. This association based in Stanford has three main objectives:
  1. Facilitate contact between French Stanford students, French-speaking people and Students interesested in French culture in Stanford, through events and communication.
  2. Help the prospective French students to apply to Stanford.
  3. Help to spread out French culture and stimulate interest of Stanford students who intend to study abroad, to undertake French studies or are interested to work in France.

The FSSA is funded mostly by the Graduate Student Council, and receives some funding from the Bechtel I-Center.

Events

Events are regularly organized on campus by the FSSA board members, whith the help of volunteers from the community. They are usually attended by a significant fraction of the French community, and are intended to gather students with similar interests in French culture. Upcoming events are announced on our mailing list. If you'd like to volunteer, or would like to organize an event, don't hesitate to contact us. We can also help you get funding for your event.

Mailing list

The FSSA mailing list is intended for FSSA events announcement and for relevant information to the Stanford French community. It is open to everybody (stanford and non-stanford, French and non-French). It receives on average three emails per week (and no spam).

To send a message on the list, email fssa-france@lists.stanford.edu. Please keep in mind that the list is distributed to more than 250 people, who do not all speak French, so it is your responsability to decide wether your email is really relevant for the list. We do not moderate the messages on the list. Options, such as subscribing and unsubscribing are available here.

Posting on the FSSA mailing list is restricted to the mailing list members. If you would like to post a message but do no want to subscribe, you can send your email to one of the FSSA board members and we will forward it.
