Current Research Project:

Tuning the curvature of Poly(ethylene glycol)/Poly(acrylic acid) (PEG/PAA) interpenetrating polymer networks with a PAA concentration gradient

Objective: To obtain precise control over the three-dimensional shape of the Poly(ethylene glycol)/Poly(acrylic acid) (PEG/PAA) interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) using photolithography.   Such control will enable researchers to custom-design physical structures of hydrogels for a variety of corneal implant applications, including keratoprostheses and intracorneal lenses, without the use of casting molds and milling.
