The Indigenous Council of Roraima is a grass roots Non-Governmental Organization supported by a variety of international and national (Brazil) funders. The group has provided data bases and GIS maps for use by the project, facilitated interactions between researchers and indigenous community members, and participated in study site selection.

North Rupununi District Development Board, Guyana
The North Rupununi District Development Board is the organization that represents the communities in the North Rupununi District in Guyana. The NRDDB has been supportive of our projects, facilitating researcher communications with villagers, and interfacing between the project and the Guyanese government.
Bina Hill Institute, Guyana
The Bina Hill Institute has a mission of capacity building and cultural preservation for the Makushi people of the North Rupununi. It manages a training center, and has lodging and communications facilities. The Institute coordinated and hosted our workshops and outreach program.
Iwokrama International Centre, Guyana
The Iwokrama International Centre for Rain Forest Conservation and Development is an autonomous non-profit institution established by Guyana and the Commonwealth. The Centre manages the nearly one million acre (371,000 hectares) Iwokrama Forest in central Guyana to show how tropical forests can be conserved and sustainably used to provide ecological, social and economic benefits to local, national and international communities.
