Awards and Honors

Professor Moin is a Fellow of the American Physical Society. In 1985, he received NASA's Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal. He also is the recipient of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics' Lawrence Sperry Award. In 1995, he received the Alexander von Humoldt Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany and in 1996 the American Physical Society's Fluid Dynamics Prize. In 1998 he was given an Honorary Doctorate by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Professor Moin is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.

Research Interests

Professor Moin is interested in the physics, modeling and control of turbulent flows. He is also interested
in developing efficient numerical methods for large scale computations and parallel computing.
