Sergio Rosas was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and came to the USA when he was six months old. He lived in east LA for three years before he came to reside in the blazing hot desert city of Cathedral City, CA in the Coachella Valley. Growing up, his mother would tell him stories of when she was in a ballet folklrico in her small town along with some of her siblings, and would try endlessly to teach him to dance, but was unsuccessful. Since he saw Ballet Folklrico perform during Admit Weekend, he made it his goal to join. His first song was La Negra that he performed during Posadas after shortly joining BFdS at the end of fall quarter this year. He enjoys dancing along with an amazing group of people, and is proud to keep his heritage alive through the regional dances he learns. His mother and family are proud that he finally learned! Sergio currently serves as the Program Coordinator for El Centro Chicano and is a member of Los Hermanos de Stanford. He is actively involved in the community and enjoys helping others. His other interests include, and are not limited to, relaxing! Que viva Jalisco and BFdS!
