La Mejicanisima Tania Roman was born and raised in Houston, TX but had the privilege to start dancing in Guerrero, Mexico under the tutelage of Roger Uriostegui, a former dancer with the Ballet Folklorico de Mexico de Amalia Hernandez. She was fourteen years old and danced only for a year for she soon returned to the U.S., where she didn't dance folklorico until she got to Stanford. Being in Ballet Folklorico de Stanford has been one of the most memorable experiences she has had so far. And although she is going insane due to all the pre-med classes she is taking, she still manages to zapatearle bonito! Her favorite dance is Camino Real a Colima and Maracumbe. She is majoring in Human Biology and still trying to figure out the meaning of life. Until then, she will continue dancing until she breaks a leg or something
