Stefanie Garcia graduated in 2007 with a BA with honors in Political Science with a focus in International Relations, and a MA in Political and Comparative Sociology. While at Stanford, she was a member of Ballet Folklórico de Stanford for 4 years, including 2 years of serving as co-chair. She is still grateful to the group for allowing her to join despite lack of previous experience--dancing Ballet was one of the most rewarding experiences of her college career!
After graduating (and taking some time off to let the stress fractures in her foot heal), she moved to the Washington, D.C. area to work as a political analyst. Her work focuses on research and analysis of national security and defense-related topics. She sincerely misses her BFdeS family and the wonderful memories that they shared, including some fabulous Conciertos, adventurous small performances, and terrific parties! She no longer performs folklórico, due to the sad lack of such groups on the East Coast, but whenever "La Mariquita" comes on her iPod, she definitely dances along!
