Overview: Information for Public Inspection

In accordance with IRS regulations, Stanford makes its most recent Business Income Tax Returns available for public inspection.

To request copies of Stanford University Form 990 (Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax) and Form 990-T (Exempt Organization Business Income Tax Return), please submit request in writing to:

Stanford is not required to make publicly available its application for tax exempt status. While IRS regulations require that certain entities that qualified for tax exempt status after August 15, 1987 make publicly available its application for tax exempt status, Stanford is exempt from this disclosure requirement because Stanford qualified for tax exempt status before this date.
