Stanford Introductory Seminar. Preference to freshmen.
Topics include: introduction to quantum mechanics and the behavior of electrons in solids; semiconductor devices; superconductors; magnetic materials used for applications and data storage; and aspects of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
Prerequisite: high school physics.
