    • cameras + GPS info + more

what do we turn in?

  • best 15 ideas get to use the gear
  • top 3 teams will get selected and sponsored by World Wildlife Technology to work on a sea turtle project
    • Mexico, Barbedos, other possible sites

we could probably get the cameras

  • 750 word abstract + application forms

When are applications due?

  • Jan 20th

Do we get to keep it?

  • 'reward' not 'lend' so yes

They extended the project deadline

  • so we've probably got a good shot

Ideas

  • document caterpillars
  • piggyback on other folks projects in Columbia etc.
  • work with extreme affordability class

What are the next steps?

  • form a group
  • get some project ideas
  • anyone who's interested can get a national membership
    • Heather will likely sign up

Engineering Week, 3rd week in February

Last year we did slow sand filtration workshop + the P&G coagulant and disinfectant demo

  • it might be good to think up some workshops
    • hands on things, fun to build, fun to learn from it
    • doesn't need to be high tech

Anyone interested?

  • leading a workshop is a great way to be involved
  • we also did a biodiesel workshop that was considered successful
  • maybe on adobe structures?

ESW-SAID Water conference

April 8th and 9th?

  • SAID is doing most of the logistical planning
  • they will have panels and keynote speaker
  • our commitments
    • organize a technical panel
    • contribute to looking at the papers

this fits in with the Woods Troubled Waters initiative

  • they are in our corner

This is a great opportunity to get involved with a big conference

  • SAID does a good job, and we should put together a group of people to really contribute
  • there will be some high-powered contributers...

Eric has the lead on this so Grace will send out the contact info for anyone that's interested
