SAID Conference brainstorming
Eric couldn't be here tonight
It would be good to meet up with the SAID folks some time soon
- we should tap into sign-up sheet and email list
- we can wait to see what Eric sends us
- might be good to sit down and talk to the folks from the Woods Institute to plan
Grace to email Eric, to send
Woods Recap
They are governing environmental group on campus
- got many of the student leaders together to update each other
- seems to be a huge water theme (we should try to
- check out Heather's email for the notes
- by tomorrow we should put together a bid for the grant
- Heather to send email letting them know of our intent to apply
Web Content Archive
Whit got the info from Karim's computer onto the new drive
- Whit will give drive to Molly so she can archive her stuff in the next two weeks
Location, our new offices might be a good place to have a walk up computer with info
Treasurer's Report
Dinner with Jenna budget for ~$200 Max still waiting for budget items for classes
- Students for Sustainable Stanford - what can Stanford do to improve sustainability?
- recycling bins, not in public places, OK in dorms
- energy usage, also good in dorms, but maybe not so much elsewhere
- green buildings, more than just greed dorm, and energy building, new GSB campus is a big positive step
- Standards for donors for green architecture
- any projects to improve sustainability for which we couldn't get funding?
- not so much, it's been red tape
Nobody (Stanford Fund) will give us money until the Spring quarter, but we will need money for the winter quarter
- what are other sources of funding?
- we need to broaden our scope (engineering resource has been tapped maybe too many times)
- some of us can hang on to receipts until we have funds
Transparency in general is a good thing for a group in constant transition
- Max can put together a list with Grace's help to help delegate fund raising tasks in the future
Class Progress
Eric S. seems to have a handle on it but
- lab space is still a question mark?
- there are concerns about class from the lab's folks
- some concerns about people not having enough experience
- there is a similar class that overlaps and there is concern about thoroughness
- expenses may also be a factor
A very detailed, well planned syllabus for the class seems to be what's needed to give them the required confidence in us
- the more specific the better
- time slots can't overlap with chem or bio classes or labs
- should there be a minimum required number of bio or chem grad students to be lab team leaders?
- maybe they can suggest people for this task, Andrew might also know some people
Heather happy to chat with Eric about concerns, or maybe meet up with lab coordinator and Eric
Salazar sent an email to inquire about will follow up tomorrow
Stanford GRID training

Jenna Davis Dinner
Dec. 4th is the planned date
- someone should book Haas (Eric was going to do this, Heather to relay the date so he can do it)
- we can wait to send room location until we hear from Eric
- Darbar sounds good for the food
- Heather will just send an email, and Grace will make a flier (if needed)
- Grace can order food, both Heather and Grace to pick it up
