Lecturer, Business Practice Innovation

Being from a large family, Kris knows a thing or two about collaboration and teamwork. She also knows a lot about cold winters and shoveling the driveway. Something she is happy to leave behind in her native Canada.

After spending most of her childhood in Toronto, Kris went on to study her B.Eng in Biomechanical Engineering at Dalhousie University in gorgeous Halifax, Nova Scotia.

After an amazing 4 years in Halifax, Kris worked at the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto working on a project for an area titled "Weston Family Innovation Centre". The centre opened in July 2006.

Kris followed in her dad’s footsteps by heading to Stanford University for her Masters. She went on to complete her MS. Engineering in Product Design where she spent a lot of time at the d.school. She also spent a summer working at Clif Bar as a design intern – Crunchy Peanut Butter is still a favorite.

Kris now works at IDEO where she works on all things brand, product, and service. Besides the amazing clients that she works with, Kris gets to spend every day with some of the coolest people on earth. Teaching at the d.school means that Kris can help students have the confidence to use design thinking to solve any world problem or create opportunity.
