Inspiration behind the d.school

A core team of Stanford faculty from Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Management Science and Engineering, and the Graduate School of Business already are working on the d.school, alongside consulting faculty, staff members, and d.school fellows.

This group is led by David Kelley, a professor of mechanical engineering who has taught design at Stanford for over 25 years. As the founder of IDEO, one of the most renowned design firms in the world, David has prototyped, implemented and lived many of the d.school's guiding principles.
