Dr Orietta da Rold is a Lecturer in Medieval Literature in the School of English at the University of Leicester. She co-directs The Production and Use of English Manuscripts 1060–1220 project with Professor Treharne. She has numerous publications on the codicology, palaeography, and language of medieval manuscripts, and their manifestation in the electronic age: she is the author of an electronic edition of the Chaucer manuscript Cambridge University Library MS Dd.4.24 and is currently completing a study of the uses of paper in later medieval manuscripts. She has also published several essays on the examination of Old and Middle English literary traditions from a material perspective.
