About

.
In determining the site of our new building, our goal has been to strengthen The Stanford Daily’s bonds with the campus community as a whole, as well as provide a secure and centralized location for our staffers.
.
Increased Work Space
The building will be two stories and offer the newspaper approximately 5,000 square of office space, providing an approximately 20% increase over The Stanford Daily’s current office space. This will allow for individual offices for each editorial department, as well as other important amenities such as conference rooms and a kitchen area. The Daily is working with the university to implement an environmentally friendly heating and cooling system.
.
Location, Location, Location
The location of the building will be along Panama Mall right behind the newly renovated Old Union Complex. This site, located right in the heart of Stanford, will provide a visible location that is safe and easily accessible from all parts of campus. A new building will create a buzz around the newspaper, making it a beacon of opportunity on Stanford’s campus. As the university reworks Panama Mall to make it into a thoroughfare for people moving from east to west campus, the energy and activity in this area will only increase.
.
The Look and Feel of Stanford
The Stanford Daily’s new home will incorporate the classic red-roof architecture of Stanford and the aesthetic look of nearby Panama Mall buildings.
