Stanford Cycling/Thomas Weisel Partners/Specialized presents the Stanford/Fort Ord Race Weekend 2002 April 6-7, 2001 Held under USCF permit #2002-000666 --- General Information --- On Saturday, we will have a road race on the Fort Ord campus, which is about 5 miles north of Monterey and east of Hwy 1. There is no water at the race site. Stanford Cycling will provide limited quantities, but don't come unprepared. On Sunday, we will move to Stanford campus itself for the return of the campus crit! --- Directions to Saturday at Ft. Ord --- From Hwy 1 at Marina, take the Reservation Road Exit. Go east for 6 miles. Turn right at race entrance sign (East Garrison gate, on downgrade). Follow the signs to the parking area. From Hwy 101 at Salinas, take Monterey Peninsula exit, skirt Salinas south boundary on Sanborn (toward Monterey) and onto hwy 68 southbound. From Hwy 68 take Reservation Rd exit; follow Reservation Rd west 3+ miles; left at race entrance sign (East Garrison gate, ON UPGRADE). Follow the signs to the parking area. --- Directions to Sunday on Stanford Campus --- From Highway 101 North & South: Take the Embarcadero Road exit west toward Stanford. At El Camino Real, Embarcadero turns into Galvez Street as it enters the university. Bear left 200m later, and then make a left at the 4 way stop at Campus Drive. Continue down this street and after the 1st stop sign, the course will be directly to your right. However, you can't turn in here, but should continue to the lot on the L after Maples Pavilion, or skirt the course clockwise, turning right onto Serra, and then right into parking between the Serra buildings and the tennis courts. From Highway 280 North & South: Exit Page Mill Rd. east toward the bay. Take a left at the second light, Junipero Serra. Continue to the second light and take a hard right on Campus Drive West. At the 6th stop sign, take a left; the course is now on your right. Take the 2nd right into the Serra lot, parking to the L between the buildings and the tennis courts. --- The Races --- * Chris Hooyman Memorial Road Race * Saturday, April 6, 2002 Location: Ft.
