Research
When the size of materials is reduced into nanoscale dimension, physical
and chemical properties can change dramatically. We are interested in a
broad range of nanoscale phenomena, with particular emphasis in electrical
properties and their coupling with physical and chemical transformation.
Understanding these phenomena has important technological implications in
nanoelectronics, energy conversion and nanobiotechnology. We study both
fundamentals and applications of these phenomena in chemically-synthesized
nanocrystals and nanowires materials. The following projects are current
being carried out:
- Nanocrystal and nanowire synthesis and
self-assembly
- Nanostructure transistor
- Nanoscale nonvolatile memory devices
- Energy conversion with nanomaterials
- Nanoscale scanning electrochemical probe
