Tutorials

We have developed several interactive tutorials for learning how to use library resources such as Socrates and ERIC. The Flash tutorials are short demos that provide a (very) brief introduction to using the tools. The guided practice links provide more in-depth, "hands-on" experience using the tools.

ERIC

This tutorial is based on the CSA Illumina version of ERIC. ERIC is also available from EBSCOhost, OCLC FirstSearch, and the U.S. Department of Education (open to all).

RefWorks is an online citation manager that is free for all Stanford affiliates to use. Below are some Flash tutorials explaining its features and use.

Style Manuals and Citation Managers

• Style Manuals: Formatting resources at Cubberley, including APA, MLA, and Chicago. Also includes links to guides for RefWorks and EndNote.
• Reference Management Comparison: Charts comparing features, cost, and compatibility of the most common reference management software offerings.

Zotero

Zotero is a free, open-source citation manager that runs in the Firefox web browser.
