Japanese/Korean Linguistics Volume 26

Japanese and Korean are typologically similar, with linguistic phenomena in one often having counterparts in the other. The Japanese/Korean Linguistics Conference provides a forum for research, particularly through comparative study, of both languages. This volume includes essays on the phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, historical linguistics, discourse analysis, prosody, and psycholinguistics of both languages. This volume will be a useful tool for any researcher or student in either field.

This volume gathers papers delivered at the 26th Japanese/Korean Linguistics conference held at UCLA.

Shoichi Iwasaki is Professor in the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures at the Univeristy of California, Los Angeles. Susan Strauss is an Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics and Asian Studies at the Pennsylvania State University. Shin Fukuda is Associate Professor of Japanese Language and Linguistics in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures and a cooperating faculty in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Sun-Ah Jun is Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of California, Los Angeles. Sung-Ock Sohn is Professor in the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures at the University of California, Los Angeles. Kie Zuraw is Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of California, Los Angeles.
