Japanese/Korean Linguistics, Vol. 9
edited by Mineharu Nakayama and Charles J. Quinn, Jr.
Japanese and Korean are typologically quite similar, so a linguistic
phenomenon in one language often has a counterpart in the other. The
papers in this volume are intended to further compare and/or
contrast research in both languages. This selection of papers
reflects the Ninth Japanese/Korean Linguistics Conference's division
into four separate panels: Historical Linguistics; Phonetics;
Phonology and Acquisition; Pragmatics, Discourse Analysis and
Sociolinguistics; and Semantics. The Ninth Japanese/Korean
Linguistics Conference was held at The Ohio State
University.
Mineharu Nakayama and Charles J. Quinn, Jr. are
associate professors in the Department of East Asian Languages and
Literatures at The Ohio State University.
