On the Admin Grades page, click the appropriate View link (you can view grades for all registered persons, only students, or by section). On the next page, locate the Column Legend. If the Column Legend is not in view, click the Column Legend link on the far right top the page to bring the Column Legend into view. Click the Add New Column link to launch the Add Grade Column wizard. Type a descriptive name for the graded item that you are about to create (e.g., Test on Chapters 1-5). Select the type of item you wish to create. There are five types of graded items: Other Graded Item, Participation, Test/Quiz, Midterm Exam, and Final Exam. Click Yes to allow your students to see their grades
for this particular graded item. Click No to prevent
your students from seeing their grades for this particular graded item.
A checkmark ( Grade entry can be any possible character. Select Numeric for numbers. Select Text for letter grades, or symbols like +/-. If you select Numeric, remember to enter a score value. The Description field allows you to enter notes about the graded item that only you and other administrators can see. Date is another way by which you can describe the graded item you are about to create. It also allows you to sort the grade columns. Date can designate a due date or when the graded item/event will take place. For assignments created in the Assignments tool, date designates the due date. Click Cancel to exit the wizard without making any changes. Click Save to proceed to the next step. |
