Edit Course Material Wizard

On the Admin Course Materials page, click the Edit link to the right of a course material link.

Step 1

Select one of the options that describes the copyright status of the file you are adding to your course. Click Next to advance to Step 2 of the wizard. Click Save to save changes made on this step and exit the wizard. Click Cancel to exit the wizard without making any changes.

Step 2

Edit the URL (if applicable), title, and file format of the file. The file format describes the functional or representational type of the document. File type choices were submitted by faculty and cover many types of material. If your file does not fit one of these types, select Unknown from the drop-down menu. In many cases the file format (e.g. PDF, HTML) will be automatically listed for a file. If not, you will have to select the file format.

The description and author fields are optional.

Click Next to advance to Step 3. Click Save to save changes made up to and including this step and exit the wizard. Click Cancel to exit the wizard without making any changes.

Step 3

You have the option to provide more description about your file by selecting its resource type (e.g., reading, lab, diagram) from the drop-down menu. If none of the pre-specified types applies, you can enter your own value in the "Other" field.

You also have the option to make the course material required or optional. This information will appear below the course material link on the Course Materials page.

Finally, you can define when and for how long particular content material(s) will be available to students in Student View by specifying values for the display beginning and display ending fields.

Click Next to advance to Step 4 of the wizard. Click Prev to go back to Step 2 and make changes. Click Cancel to exit the wizard without making any changes.

Step 4

Preview how the edited file will appear on the Course Materials page. Click Prev to go back to Step 3 and make changes. To post the file on the Course Materials page, click Save. Click Cancel to exit the wizard without making any changes.

Final Step

In the final wizard screen, CourseWork reports that you've successfully edited the file. Click OK to exit the wizard and return to Admin Course Materials.
