Richard M. ChristensenRichard Christensen received his D. Eng. degree from Yale University in 1961. Over a long and productive career he has worked in industry, national laboratories and academia. His books, Theory of Viscoelasticity (Dover) and Mechanics of Composite Materials (Dover), are widely read and referenced. He has received many awards for his work including the Nadai Medal from the Materials Division of ASME for “Distinguished Achievement and Contribution to the Field of Engineering Materials”. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. His work on materials research continues with the popular website www.FailureCriteria.com. In 2013 his new book, The Theory of Materials Failure, will be published by Oxford University Press. |
