Tage Classical Sleeve Dance

This Tage dance is a rendition of a court dance from the Tang Dynasty. A form of Chinese dance, the Tage dance style is characterized by melodic stomping with the feet, traditionally accompanied by singing. Be enchanted by the elegant movements and flowing sleeves in this beautiful performance of our first Tage dance.

Tibetan Dance: Kang Ding Love Song

This is a modern-day dance inspired by one of the most popular love songs in China, deriving from both Chinese and Tibetan influence. Highly energetic and beautiful, the dance tells the tale of a girl as she searches for a lover.

Jasmine Dance: Mo Li Hua

Performed to a popular Chinese folk song which dates back to the 18th century, the Jasmine Flower Dance Mo Li Hua depicts the elegance and beauty of jasmine flowers as they bloom. Our girls become graceful jasmine flowers that dance and come to life in a garden of flowers, tended to by a caring gardener.

Fan Dance: The Thousand Reds

A fan dance from 2009, this dance is called the Thousand Reds, for the color of the red fans. It was performed on campus at Urban Nights and at An Art Affair. This fan dance is a contemporary dance where elements of jazz are combined with traditional chinese fan dances to create an exciting, modern performance.

Red Ribbon Dance

This ribbon dance, paired with traditional Chinese music, is a fast-paced dance that is also reminiscent of celebratory events. This dance was performed at multiple events welcoming in the Chinese New Year.

White Sleeve Dance

This sleeve dance was performed at Urban Nights in 2010 and is reminiscent of traditional Chinese celebrations. The sleeves, which are long, are thrown out and caught in different rhythms to match music and create an upbeat, exciting atmosphere for the audience.

Dai Dance: Rain in the Bamboo Forest

Performed in 2010, this Dai dance is an ethnic minority dance in China. In it, dancers are supposed to mimic nature by contrasting graceful and sharp movements. The dance depicts village girls frolicking in a bamboo forest in freshly-fallen rain.
