Set Temperature

Temperature should be regulated during 2D experiments, fluctuating temperature in 2D experiments will cause noise, particularly in t1 (the indirect detect dimension). This is not a big problem for short 2Ds (10-20 minutes), but with 2Ds acquired for hours, the temperature should be regulated.

To set temperature, type:

vttype=2 su.

Type the temperature that you want to run the experiment at, if you want room temp, choose slightly more than the VT says the temperature is, maybe 25, so type: temp=25 su.

Temperature should go to that temperature, and when it gets there, the acquisition window will say VT-regulated (while changing temperature, it says VT=not regulated, and when temp='n' then it says VT=off). Vttype should now be set to 0 so that you wont change temperature by mistake, type:

vttype=0 su

If temperature does not respond to changes, type:

temp

Click on Reset VT button.

Then set temperature to appropriate value.
