Welcome

The Advanced Optical Ceramic Laboratory at Stanford University is home to research on dense and transparent polycrystalline materials for laser and scintillator applications. The primary goals of this laboratory include: the advancement of ceramics processing science and optical materials systems while heightening the state-of-the-art in ceramic materials, and understanding the fundamental relationships between ceramic processing conditions and the performance of laser and scintillator ceramics through microstructure and defects studies. We believe that these goals can be best achieved thorough the combination of basic and applied research, and the immediate application of results for engineering improved materials.

The Advanced Optical Ceramics Laboratory is housed in the Gordon & Betty Moore Building and is affiliated with the Department of Materials Science and Department of Applied Physics at Stanford University.
