Egypt has always been a country where tourists from all over the world visit. Tourism has always been popular in Egypt because of its great history, geographical diversity and extraordinary nice weather. The tourism industry provides Egypt and its citizens with economic and social benefits. According to the Egyptian Tourism Minister
Zuheir Garana Tourism attracts 11 million tourists annually and will reach approximately $12 billion by 2011 that kind of revenue makes tourism vital for Egypt. Also, we Egyptians get to see the tourist's amazement at all of our monuments. This make us appreciate our country even more. We begin to think to ourselves "How come we haven’t seen many of our monuments up till this moment while all of the foreigners come from all over the world to see these things?'
Beyond any doubt, tourism improves the quality of life for Egyptian citizens and the whole world.

Hi AUC Rhetoric Students: Our class is very excited to be blogging with you! I never really thought before about how tourists can help us see the beauty in our own country; this is something I will keep in mind when I am next back in my home country of Ireland! We do, however, see tourists all the time on campus at Stanford and, yes, they do give me a sense of what is attractive and interesting to visitors.

Hi, guys! Nice post. I know exactly what you mean when you wonder how all these tourists have already had the privilege of admiring the stunning landscapes of your country but you haven't done so yet. I am from Brazil but I have not yet been able to visit the Amazon Rainforest or watch Carnival in Rio. Well, I guess our countries have so many tourist attractions to offer that it is indeed hard to get to know all of them.

Hello! You have an interesting outlook on tourism in Egypt. It's nice that you all are able to be optimistic and see the benefits that tourists can provide. I am from the Los Angeles area, I agree that foreigners make me appreciate the great sites nearby me. Places like the Chinese Theater in Hollywood and Disneyland would not be as highly esteemed without the strong demand of tourists. It does give me a sense of pride when I see how far people travel to experience my home. Sometimes I get annoyed by tourists because of the lines and crowds they make, but your post makes me remember that they're excited to see a place that I love and can visit whenever I want, so I shouldn't take them for granted.

This in an interesting perspective on tourism in your own home town. When visiting other countries, I realize that most of the local people that I've interacted with haven't actually gone to all the tourist locations that their country or city are esteemed for. It's fascinating how we can take for granted what we have so close to home and how we don't appreciate it since its so accessible.

This is a very interesting standpoint on tourism. Tourists are usually presented in a negative light: often disrespectful of culture, unaware of their actions, uninformed and uninvolved. So to hear an account of tourists that is so positive is very surprising! Many feel that the constant presence of tourists detracts from the feeling of true culture, and that the commodification of culture for tourist consumption detracts from the uniqueness of the culture itself. Have you ever felt this effect?

Hi ! This is a really interesting perspective! To be honeset I didn't think locals would welcome tourists too much since, although tourists do stimulate the economy,I admit that we can be pretty annoying to deal with sometimes since we come in with a lot of preconceived misconceptions and stereotypes.
