In our group there are 3 guys and 4 girls. We are from left: Jenny, Cosmin, David, Dan, Ida, Mathilda and Susanne.

We are group 2 of the 4 groups in our course studying intercultural rhetoric at Örebro University
We are seven people in our group and so far we have only met a couple of times to discuss the rhetorical differences between countries. The idea is that we meet one time a week to discuss what we have learned during the classes, these meetings are completely led by ourselves. We also try to come up with answers which might have come up during the lessons.

David: I am 22 years old and have been studying in Örebro for almost 2 years, before I started on this course I studied Media and Communication. At the moment I am only taking this course and not the whole program. On my spare time I go to the nearby town of Västerås and support the local hockey team, or see my friends.

Cosmin: Privjet! My age is 25 and I am born in Romania. My plan with this education is to get more job opportunities international. The studying life in Sweden is fun and the course is free, with means that you only have to pay for your living and books. In my spare time I like sports and gambling. Hope to hear from you!

Hi, group2!
You all sound sooo diverse and so interesting people to get to know. Thanks for introducing yourselves!

I am sure my students will share more about Khabarovsk, when they start writing their blogs (next week, when they return from winter break)
I will just mention that our city is the capital of the Far East Russia, and is located on the bank of a beautiful river - the Amur river, surrounded with taiga (where Amur tiger lives), very close to China, with a population of nearly a million people.

Look forward to our exchange,

Olga

Hello Jenny, Cosmin, David, Dan, Ida, Mathilda and Susanne!
It is very nice to meet you.

My name is Alisa Yushchenko. I`m now doing my 4th year of international accounting at Khabarovsk State Academy of Economics and Law (KSAEL).
A native of Russia I grew up in a sunny and snowy city of Khabarovsk from which Japan is twice closer than Moscow. I have been doing MUN since my first year of studies. I am the president of KSAEL Model United Nations club.
I love traveling, enjoy walking, skiing, cycling and watching movies.
I study French and love this language. I have a cat, he is very cute and charming.
A couple of year ago I did photography. You may see some of my works at
http://alisa-londo.photosight.ru

I am very very glad to have an opportunity to meet you. And I am very interested to know Sweden better.

Thank you for your great questions!

Khabarovsk is rather big city (especially for the region). Its population is about 500.000 people.

There are several ways to spend a spare day in the city. I prefer to meet my friends, go to the cafes or to the cinema (I love watching movies).
In winter we go skiing.
In summer I love to walk in the neighboring stadium. It is situated close to the river and there is always a pleasant breeze. This is a very nice place - a lot of people spend their time there (cycle, walk or sit in summer cafes).

Do you often go to other cities or countries on your days-off?

For me Sweden is famous for ABBA. I love its music and believe that it is one of the best bands ever )

Could you please give the names of some modern Swedish musicians?

I have also heard that Sweden is the best country in Europe to start business because it has the lowest corruption level.

Could you please tell your opinion how Sweden has reached and ensures its low corruption rate?

Jenny, could you please tell me why you have chosen communist party?

Dan, is seems that we do have common interests. I did photography and I listen to Pink Floyd when I was a child )))

Susanne, as you are going to be a coach. What would you like to teach to the children/adults?

Alisa Yushchenko.

Hello everyone! I am glad to see you and I am looking forward to communicating with you in the conference!
My name is Katya. I am a freshman at our Khabarovsk State Academy of economics and law. I major in international accounting. My native town is Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. It is located on the small island Sakhalin not far from Khabarovsk. It is also known as the biggest city of the biggest island of the biggest country :)
I also will try to answer your questions.
What do you do on a day off in Khaborovsk?
I usually meet with my friend and go to the cinemas as I am a great cinema-goer) Also I like theatre very much, especially new productions and interpretations. And as every teenager I like spending hours in cafes with my friends. And sometimes I invite my friends to my place and having fun at home 
How big is your city?
My native city is Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. It is much smaller than Khabarovsk. Its population is about 17000 people.
What kind of music do you like?
I am into classical music very much! I have finished the music school in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and this really made me love and respect classical music very much. And now playing the piano has become one of my favorite hobbies. Also I am fond of R&B, techno, house music and Russian rock.
What do you want to do in the future?
As I major in international accounting I’d like to connect my future with this field. This sphere is very interesting for me and I am absolutely convinced that it will give me great opportunities for the career prospect and possibility to move ahead in today’s world. I really would like to become a professional accountant. Some people find accounting and bookkeeping boring but I think it depends on us. If you are a real specialist and a professional who knows everything about your work you can make it different and you will always be able to find an interesting job. Also I’d like to get second higher education. Probably it will be jurisprudence.
What do you know about Sweden and Swedish people?
Unfortunately I know too little about Sweden and its people. And that is why it is especially interesting for me to participate in our conference and to learn more about this enigmatic country from you. Everything I know about Sweden is that it is famous for its alpine skiing resorts and exotic northern nature. Also I know that it is surrounded by numerous islands.
What do you usually eat? Do you have any special dishes?
I like our national food very much. My favorite dishes are pelmeni, pancakes and fried potato with mushrooms. But also I like eating food from abroad. There are some restaurants in Khabarovsk where you can taste Japanese or Chinese food. But I would like to taste more different meal from other countries.
What do you think of politics?
I am absolutely convinced that knowing politics is extremely necessary for every educated and cultured person. Politics affect all sides of people’s life so it is very important to understand it better. And who knows, may be in future we will be able to change something for better. As for me I hadn’t been very interested in politics before I entered the Academy. But here I started attending the Debate club where we learn to understand different politic processes and discuss politics, economics and other international issues. And I really have become very interested in politics.

What do you do on a day off in Stanford?
Playing alternate frisbee, study for tests, work on projects, and lots of dancing!

How big is your city?
BIG =)

What type of groups do you have? Religious, cultural etc.?
We have very diverse groups, from Chess Club, to Ballroom Dancing, to A Cappella, to Eating Clubs.

What kind of music do you like?
We have all types - primarily, we have a lot of R&B, Hip-Hop, and Rap

Let us know what else you're interested in learning about Stanford. Lets keep in touch!
