"Now as you excel in every respect - in faith, discourse, knowledge, all earnestness, and in the love we have for you, may you also excel in this grace of giving." - 2 Corinthians 8:7

There are several ways to give to the Catholic Community at Stanford. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Read below and click on the links to discover how you can give and become a greater part of our church community.

Welcome!

Please let me extend my thanks to you for your interest in making contributions to the Catholic Community at Stanford. This has been recently added and I hope it will provide helpful information to you as you consider a gift to the Parish. As you might already know, gifts to the Church make many programs possible -- programs that provide vital assistance to the many constituencies within our community. As you might not know, we are solely supported by you and not by the Diocese of San Jose or Stanford University. Without the generous support of persons like yourselves, all our community's programs simply would not be possible.

We are a university community. That may appear obvious, but it changes the nature of both our programs and our funding, as opposed to a "normal" parish. On the program side, we need to respond to students' spiritual needs and requests. Fortunately, these have resulted in many new programs over the past years: the discussion groups, retreats and social activities now crowd our weekly calendar. This is a very good thing. We are also blessed that "Catholic" is the largest denomination choice of Stanford students who declare a religious affiliation -- over 20% of students who indicate a religion are Catholic on campus.

The allocation of contributed funds is multi-faceted. There are many programs and services that the Catholic Community at Stanford provides in the name of all our people. Our greatest need, however, is for unrestricted gifts -- gifts that we can direct to the programs with the largest immediate needs. Please consider making your gift "unrestricted" so that we can assist programs with these unmet needs.

As you know, some ways of giving to the Catholic Community might present considerable financial advantages for the contributor -- such as possible tax savings.

Please consider giving to the Catholic Community. Whether you participate your time, talent, and/or treasure, it is your act of involvement that will make this community a success. Our development staff is ready and willing to answer any questions you may have. We have provided these web pages for you to browse and understand the many ways to give to the Catholic Community at Stanford.

As we move forward with our efforts to do the Lord's work, I ask His special blessings on you. Thank you in advance for your continued support and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Father Nathan Castle, O.P.
