WHITE MASS APRIL 14
CCAS will sponsor its first White Mass at 5PM on Monday, April 14, in the Memorial Church, with a reception to follow. The White Mass, presided over by the bishop, honors community members who work in the health care professions. Please join us as we celebrate their service.

MELINDA HENNEBERGER TALK APRIL 16
Join us Wednesday, April 16 at 7:30PM in the Common Room on the third floor of the Old Union for a talk by Melinda Henneberger, Commonweal columnist, Newsweek contributing editor, and author of If They Only Listened to Us: What Women Voters Want Politicians to Hear. Henneberger's talk is entitled "Five Truths About Women Voters in '08 (And Why They're Flat-Out False)" and is co-sponsored by CCAS and the Office for Religious Life. FR. NATHAN'S DISCUSSION SERIES
Due to the Melinda Henneberger talk on Wed. April 16th and another prior commitment, Father Nathan will NOT be holding a discussion series session on Wed. April 16th OR Wed. April 23rd. Please join us again on Wed. April 30th at 7:30pm in the Seminar on the 3rd Floor of Old Union when the series resumes. For any questions, please contact one of the Interns.

CROSSROADS CATHOLIC FELLOWSHIP
We meet every Tuesday at 8pm on the 3rd Floor of Old Union, Common Room. This Tuesday, we continue with a Lectio Divina session. Lectio Divina is a form of prayer and scriptural reading that calls one to study, ponder, listen and pray from God's Word. If you're interested in finding out more about it or want to try it out, we'll see you on Tuesday. For more information, contact Chris Hammen (chammen@stanford.edu).

PERFORMER MIKE MANGIONE

SPOON BREAKFAST WITH JSA
Join C@S and the Jewish Student Association early Monday morning in cooking breakfast for the homeless! We will be cooking for around 70 people, beginning at 5:30am, and delivering the food to the Opportunities Center in Palo Alto on Monday April 21 at around 8:30am. GRADUATE STUDENT FELLOWSHIP

SPRING UG DINNER HELP
We have two more dinners planned for our hungry undergrads in the Spring and would absolutely cherish help in the form of cooking or patronage. The dates are April 27 and May 18. If you would like to help (by donating or cooking a main dish to feed between 50-60 students) please contact Estella (cestella@stanford.edu).

ROSARY
Students meet daily to pray the rosary at 10 PM in Wilbur west dining hall (Tuesday through Sunday) and on the third floor of Old Union during Eucharistic Adoration (Monday), as well as at 5:45 PM on Sunday afternoons in the interns. office on the third floor of Old Union. All are welcome to join us; no experience with the rosary is necessary. Please consider taking the time to deepen your spiritual life with this traditional Catholic prayer. FUTURE OF THE CHURCH
SHS in Atherton announces a rare opportunity to hear Fr. Richard McBrien on the Papacy of Benedict XVI and the Future of the Catholic Church. 7pm Sunday, April 27, Campbell Center at Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton. All are welcome.

NATIONAL REBUILDING DAY APRIL 26
This year the CCAS is again participating in National Rebuilding Day, Sat, April 26, approximately 8:00AM to 4:00PM. Our assignment this year is painting a house (inside and out) in East Palo Alto. Come join the thousands of volunteers around the Bay Area who will help those in need at various sites on the Peninsula. Food and t-shirts provided along with a thank you BBQ dinner afterward. MARTYR OF THE AMAZON: THE LIFE OF SR. DOROTHY STANG
Author and Biographer Sr. Roseanne Murphy of Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, will be speaking about the inspiring life and work of Sr. Dorothy Stang on Sunday, April 27th at 7:00pm at St. Athanasius Parish, 160 N. Rengstorff Ave., Mountain View. For 31 years, Sister Dorothy Stang, SNDdeN, was a missionary, living with and working for the poor in the Amazon Forest of Brazil. Because of her work for justice and for the preservation of the Amazon Forest, on February 12, 2005, she was assassinated on a lonely country road in the small village of Boa Esparanca in Para, Brazil. This event is sponsored by the St. Athanasius Justice and Peace Group. There is no charge but donations for the continuing work of the Sisters of Notre Dame in Brazil would be appreciated. WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
Today, Good Shepherd Sunday, is a special celebration of World Day of Prayer for Vocations. The world-wide Church honors all Christian vocations. We are called by name and offered a special gift fo a Christian vocation. We pray that we are open to God's call and ready to accept the gift. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, is with us to guide and protect us on our life journey.

FAITH IN ACTION
The Church works in both Sacramento and Washington to bring Catholic values to proposed legislation. You can become better informed and help affect the process at key times by signing up to receive electronic news letters and action alerts. Sign up for the national list with the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops or the California Catholic Conference (the policy arm of the California dioceses). We can make a difference!

HOST FAMILY NEEDED FOR REFUGEE
Refugee Youth Seeks Temporary Host Family.....Catholic Charities has an urgent need for a host family for a refugee youth, a young man aged 13 from the Sudan. We anticipate the need will be for several weeks to a month. If you can host this youth or know of a family who can, please contact Coleen Higa (408/325-5159, Coleen@ccsj.org) of our Refugee Foster Care program.

COMPLINE
Featuring the Valley Presbyterian Church Choir, under the direction of Raf Ornes. Compline is a reflective 30-minute musical service of hymns, chant and psalms sung by a variety of Stanford and local choirs in the serene candle-lit ambiance of Memorial Church. Sunday, April 13, 9:00 - 9:30 pm, Memorial Church. Spring Quarter 2008 Compline dates, including this Sunday: Sundays, April 13, 20 & 27; May 4 & 18; June 1, 9:00 - 9:30 pm, Memorial Church.
