Stanford Capoeira Officer Positions

Below are the various officer positions avaliable to members of Stanford Capoeira, with a description of the general duties. Assignments typically last for 3 quarters. Preference is given to undergraduates, since they have the most resume experience to gain. Current compensation is one (1) official Narhari uniform for each 3 quarter term served.

President - The president is in charge of the overall direction of the club. He or she should do their best to keep a strong Stanford group by coordinating recruitment of new members, performances, and any events Stanford Capoeira puts on. The other important goal of the president is to keep ties with the off-campus Narahari community, as well as other capoeira groups in the area.

Financial Officer - The financial officer will be in charge of all of Stanford Capoeira's funds. This includes creating an annual budget, reimbursing members for club related expenses, and aiding Mestre Beicola in collecting and managing dues.

Calendar Officer - Day to day tasks of the calendar officer are to work with the Financial Officer to keep track of attendance and payment. The calendar officer would be in charge of finalizing class times and locations every quarter as well. The final task would be to schedule performance dates with the president.

Advertising / Marketing - Everything related to getting word of the club out there - managing flyering, as well as implementing creative ways to market capoeira to the community. Some experience in digital art/design (photoshop, powerpoint, etc.) would be greatly preferred.

Webmaster - The capoerista in charge of the Stanford Capoeira webpage. The general tasks are to keep the site updated with important info (class schedules, pricing, events) and manage the stanford capoeira mailing list. To be honest, though, the whole website could use a facelift. If you have some web-page experience and feel like redesigning the site, that would be amazing. Of course, this would be a more significant job, time wise, than the other positions. As such, there would probably be some sort of extra compensation.
