Application Information
Qualified applicants will have completed a Bachelor's, Master's, M.D.
or Ph.D. degree in biological sciences or related fields; applicants
with majors in physics, chemistry or mathematics may be admitted on
condition that they complete background training in biology during the
first two years of study. Students who wish to pursue a combined
M.D./Ph.D. degree will be considered for admission into the Cancer
Biology Program after they have been admitted to the M.D. program in the
School of Medicine. All applicants are considered equally regardless of
race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sexual preference, age,
or gender.
The application
is available online and must be completed and received by December 4,
2007.

Stanford, CA 94305-5121 All students accepted into the Program receive a stipend to cover
costs of living, tuition, and health insurance. Student support comes from several sources. The majority of our
students are funded by a training grant from the National Cancer
Institute (restricted to U.S. citizens and permanent residents).
Other students may be funded by the Stanford Graduate Fellowship Program
(no citizenship or residency requirements).
Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for individual fellowships from
outside agencies including National Science Foundation.
These applications must be submitted early in the fall of each year.
