Simple 1d Position Resolving Detector

In this simple 1 dimension resolving detector, energy is shared between two TESs. The difference in energy absorbed in the two TESs gives position information.

Distributed 1d Position Resolving Detector

Similiarly, the TES can be distributed across the silicon crystal surface. This results in more rapid absorbtion of the phonon into the TES. Also, the sizes of the TESs can be varied to give a linear position response. Furthermore, this concept can be expanded to 2 dimensions.
