I graduated from Columbia College in 1999 with a degree in Physics. While at Columbia (in the greatest city on earth), I worked under Prof. Tony Heinz in the field of Ultrafast Optoelectronics and Spectroscopy. In the fall of 1999, I began the Ph.D. program in the Physics Department at Stanford and have been with the Block Lab ever since.

My two current research interests are:
(i) the directional load dependence of kinesin's reaction cycle
(ii) low noise and low drift measurements of the DNA transcribing machine RNA polymerase
